Summary
SCANable provided on-location 3D LiDAR scanning of the Galen Center at the University of Southern California and Jim Bennett’s (played by Mark Wahlberg) residence. The Galen Center scans were used to populate computer-generated crowd throughout the basketball game scene. The residence scans were used to calculate and render complex fluid dynamics for a computer-generated flood scene shown as a visual portrayal of Bennett hitting rock bottom and contemplating taking the easy way out.
In “The Gambler“, literature professor and gambler Jim Bennett’s debt causes him to borrow money from his mother and a loan shark. Further complicating his situation is his relationship with one of his students. Will Bennett risk his life for a second chance?
