FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Does the price include shipping?
The rental price does not include shipping. The customer is responsible for all shipping costs. One day is provided at the beginning and one day at the end of the rental period to account for shipping. No rental fees will be assessed during these two days. Your rental contract will also provide shipping details. Any major courier is acceptable (i.e. FedEx, UPS, DHL, etc.) although FedEx is preferred.
Is a deposit required?
Under most circumstances, no. However, depending upon location, duration or other factors, we reserve the right to require a deposit from renting parties.
What is the minimum rental period?
As of 2021, SCANable requires a minimum rental period of 3 months.
What kind of insurance do I need to cover the equipment?
We require an insurance certificate showing SCANable as the certificate holder and that you are covered for “Rental Equipment” for the full replacement value of the equipment on your general liability policy. This will be in the range of $50,000-$125,000 depending upon which equipment you rent.
My insurance doesn’t cover rented equipment, what options do I have?
You can hire one of our technicians and a scanner to support you on your project. As long as one of our technicians is with the scanner at all times, it is covered under our policy. Contact us for bundled rates.
What components are included?
Standard rentals include data cables, power cables, charger and cables, tribrach, and one spare battery for the HDS6x00/7000/IMAGER/Focus3D series scanners and two spare batteries for the C10/P20 (4 total). Additional components and accessories are available for rent for an additional fee. Contact us for more details.
Do I need software?
Software will be required for post processing and registration of the scan data. There are a variety of options on the market that will work and we are happy to make recommendations. In the event of scanner malfunction we will provide technical support to remedy the issue, or swap instruments at our own expense, if required.
