Rental Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Rental FAQs

Does the price include shipping?
The rental price does not include shipping.  The customer is responsible for all shipping costs.  One day is provided at the beginning and one day at the end of the rental period to account for shipping.  No rental fees will be assessed during these two days.  Your rental contract will also provide shipping details.  Any major currier is acceptable (i.e. FedEx, UPS, DHL, etc.)

Is a deposit required?
Under most circumstances no.  However, depending upon location, duration or other factors we reserve the right to require a deposit from renting parties.

Does the weekly rate cover 5 days or 7?
The standard weekly rate covers 7 days.

What kind of insurance do I need to cover the equipment?
We require an insurance certificate showing SCANable as the certificate holder and that you are covered for “Rental Equipment” for the full replacement value of the equipment on your general liability policy.  This will be in the range of $50,000-$125,000 depending upon which scanner you rent.

What components are included?
Standard rentals include data cables, power cables, charger and cables, Tribrach, and one spare battery for the HDS6x00/7000/IMAGER series scanners and two spare batteries for the C10/P20 (4 total).   Additional components and accessories are available for rent.  Contact us for more details.

Do I need software?
Software will be required for post processing and registration of the scan data.  There are a variety of options on the market that will work and we are happy to make recommendations.  If you do not have experience working with scan data we strongly recommend using SCANable to provide training prior to any rental.

Can I rent software?
We can provide monthly rental of Leica’s Cyclone and/or Cloudworx software.

Can I get training?
SCANable offers a full range of training covering field data acquisition, post processing, and advanced training.  We cater to your needs and work with your team in the field or in the office.  This can also be bundled with equipment rentals for additional cost savings.

What happens if the scanner malfunctions during the rental?
In the event of scanner malfunction we will provide technical support to remedy the issue, or swap instruments at our own expense if required.
